Petrovaradin, built between 1692 and 1780, was the most important fortess of Austria-Hungary at the Balkans. A place of the victorious battles of the Prince Eugene of Savoy: Battle of Petrovaradin, August 5th, 1716, between the Austrian and Ottoman army during the Ottoman wars. Since 1945 it is the landmark and part of the town Novi Sad (Serbian Vojvodina).
