Splendid view of the baroque palace Neuwaldegg, built for the count Theodor von Strattmann after plans of Johann Bernhard Fischer zu Erlach in the year 1697. In the foreground walking people.

Etching and copper engraving, drawn by L. Janscha and engraved by J. Ziegler, published by Artaria & Co, Vienna and Mainz about 1790. Plate size 34 x 43 cm, paper size 40 x 49 cm, with privilege: Cum Priv. S.C.M.

First state before numbers and privilege, nice and bright original water-colouring.

Just a few, not very dark spots, mainly at margins outside of the image, otherwise perfect condition. Rare in this fine and early state.

Views of Vienna

The landscape painter Laurenz Janscha (1749-1812) published together with the engraver Johann Andreas Ziegler (1749-1802) and the landscape painter C. Schütz (1718-1791) from 1779 the splendid series „Collection de 50 vues de la ville de Vienne” with more than 50 very decorative and picturesque views of Vienna.
