View on the upper Missouri River with a pyramid made of elk antlers in the foreground, surrounded by elks. Over 15 feet high (4,5 Meter) and containing more than a thousand antlers, this pyramid maybe was built over the years by Blackfoot hunters to show their hunting success.

Aquatint, etching and engraving by Amable-Nicolas Fournier (1789-1854) after drawings by Karl Bodmer, from Prince Maximilian's “Travels in the Interior of North America, 1832-1834”.

First state (Ruud 2004, p 293) for a German or French edition, printed by Bougeard, Paris, 1837-43, on chine collé, published by Jakob Hölscher, Koblenz, 1837-42 or by Arthus Bertrand, Paris, 1840-43.
