Map of Palestine with the regions of the twelve tribes of Israel and the surrounding countries. At upper left an histroical inset map of Palestine and its regions, at lower left five scales. Decorative title cartouche with illustrations (grape harvest and a camp) and with historical coins shown and with a dedication of the mapmaker to Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand the future Duke of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel and Braunschweig-Lüneburg (from 1773). Above the map is a three-line header in French with the title: "Carte de la Terre Sainte divisée selon les Douze Tribus d'Israel ...".
