The Order of Saint Benedict became the standard
for Western Monasticism from the early Middle Ages.
Their rules were fundamental for all religious orders
until the 12th century. For Homann and his successors
religious and ecclesiastical themes had been of
great importance. In connection with this a series
of maps was published which shows the provinces
of the Order of Saint Benedict in Germany, Italy,
France and Spain, from which we can offer you the
maps of Italy and France.
