Gregorius Reisch (ca. 1470-1525)

Mathematician and cartographer, professor, abbot of the Carthusian Monastery, Freiburg. Teacher of Johannes Eck (1486-1543), Martin Waldseemüller (ca. 1470-1520) and Sebstian Münster (1488-1552). Writer of the 'Margarita philosophica', the oldest printed encyclopedia, published for the first time in Freiburg in the year 1503.
