Sir Robert Dudley (1574 - 1649)

English navigator, engineer and geographer. Wrote the book  'Dell' Arcano del mare' (3 volumes, 1646-47), which contains all about navigation and shipbuilding, know at that time, and can be seen as the first sea atlas by an Englishman. Since 1605 he lived in Italy and he died in Florence.
