Guillaume de l'Isle (1675 – 1726)
Royal cartographer and publisher of maps
in Paris. Pupil of G.D. Cassini. He was succeeded
by his widow and his son-in-law Philippe Buache
(1700 – 1773) who continued his company. Later
on his maps were published in atlases by Covens
& Mortier in Amsterdam in 1733, in Venice
in 1740 and again in Paris in 1789.
