Nicolas Visscher (Piscator) (1618 – 1679)

Cartographer and publisher of Amsterdam. Edited and published single maps, from 1657 also atlases. 1652 he took over the firm of his father Claes Jansz Visscher (1587 - 1652) and was succeeded by his son Nicolas Visscher the Younger (1649 - 1702). Most of their plates were sold to P. Schenk 1717.
